The Barrett Betrayal

We now have three Supreme Court justices appointed by a president who was rightfully impeached and wrongfully acquitted.

Whichever way we lean, we should all be furious with what the Republicans in the Senate did last night.

In addition to demonstrating the magnitude of their hypocrisy, they showed their disdain for true representative democracy.

They did the opposite of what most Americans wanted them to do. Most Americans did not want them to cram through a nominee in the midst of this election. If we had, most of us didn’t want a nominee. with this one’s views on the ACA, marriage equality, or women’s rights. And, if you do share her beliefs, you deserve a Supreme Court Justice who has the guts to stand before the American people and articulate her convictions, rather than duck every question posed to her during the confirmation process in order to satisfy an audience of one.

I pray to God you vote if you haven’t already.

Let this betrayal be the death nail in the coffin of this counterfeit incarnation of the real Republican Party.
